A really busy week for me this week, with lots of different things happening. Also, this is the first time I’ve ever scheduled a post as I’m away in Leeds for the day and night today for my friend’s birthday. I hope you are all having a good weekend.
I graduated this week, I’ve been dreading this day for a long time. I didn’t really want to go in the first place but I went for my mum’s sake and because she wanted a photo of me in my cap and gown. I stuck it out for the ceremony as well though even though I was pretty sure I was going to be sick from nerves but I did it. I didn’t fall over my own feet or do anything stupid at all which is quite impressive for me as I’m ridiculously clumsy. But I did it and I never have to go back to that university ever again, if you’ve read this blog for a while you’ll know I didn’t have the best time at university but it’s over now and I just have the hard part of trying to find my perfect job to do.
I went out for a meal with my mum, my auntie and my cousin that night to Zizzi’s. It was such a lovely meal, they have this offer on at the moment where you have a 3 course meal for £24.99 and you get free olives, glass of prosecco and a shot of limoncello to finish your meal which is a brilliant offer because their portions are huge, see my massive pizza above which completely defeated me. It was a nice family get together with lots of food and plenty of alcohol.
On Wednesday, me and my mum went for lunch at Handmade Burger Company, one of my favourite places to go for a burger as for vegetarians you have about 7 choices as opposed to the usual one. After stuffing ourselves on burgers and chips, we went across to the cinema to see Skyfall. I’ve wanted to see this for ages, I’m not usually a massive Bond fan, I love spy films and novels but Bond always seemed a bit too unrealistic for me but this was brilliant. They had everything you need in a good spy/action movie and how amazing is Ben Whishaw as the new Q. He’s one of my favourite actors and I think he plays the part so well as a completely geeky computer whizz [do people still refer to people who are good with computers as that?]. Anyway if you’ve not already seen it, go now you won’t regret it.
Also, Wednesday was a perfect double bill of Ben Whishaw for me with The Hour on that night. I love his character, Freddie Lyons, and journalists working for the BBC on a cutting edge news show in the 50’s has always been a programme that is right up my street. I loved series 1 but I think they have really stepped it up for this series with better storylines, a brilliant cast and amazing 50’s clothing.
On Thursday, I went to get my new tattoo done. I’ve wanted this one done for a long time now and it’s the most personal tattoo I have. The watch is set to 6 which was the time of the morning I was born [all those years ago], the lyrics ‘Nothing Stays Forever’ are from The Maccabees song ‘Forever I’ve Known’ which is my favourite song by them but also the song that really stuck with me and helped me a lot after my Grandad died this summer. It’s my way of reminding myself that nothing stays the same and life changes and it’s not always for the best. I got this done at Five Magics tattoo in Sheffield, I took in a not very brilliant picture last week and I went back yesterday and the tattooist had drawn a completely new design for me which is the one I got done and it looks amazing, I love this tattoo a lot.
I’ve pretty much finished my Christmas shopping, I have a couple of tiny bits to buy for my friends and I’m done. So I thought it was time I treated myself, not that I don’t do that a lot anyway but as usual Company Magazine releases a new issue and I find at least one thing in it that I want, this time it’s the necklace pictured above which is totally amazing. Also, the new Company Weekly Edit for your iPhone is full of loads of outfit inspiration and you can save the pictures with the info from the magazine to your phone, I’m still amazed at how brilliant iPhones are. This is where I found this jumper which I love but at last count I have around 10 jumpers and I bought a new one last week so I don’t know if I can justify this purchase, not until it’s in the sale anyway. If you’ve not already downloaded the latest issue you should, it’s 69p per issue and in that you get outfit info, career info, new music and a look at what has been happening in the world [mainly celeb’s world’s] this week, a bargain if you ask me and enough brilliant content to keep you going until the next month’s issue of the magazine.
Finally, as it’s Saturday I’m going to leave you with this song as I’ve been listening to it pretty much all day and it’s perfect for a Saturday night whether you are going out or staying in.
