The line up for 2013’s Latitude festival was announced on 6 Music last night with Bloc Party, Foals and Kraftwerk headlining the Suffolk festival. After a brilliant year last year with a Mercury Prize win Alt-J will be headlining the second stage along with Modest Mouse and Beach House. Other bands and artists playing over the course of the weekend will be The Maccabees, Disclosure, Hot Chip, James Blake, Jessie Ware, Villagers, Daughter, Everything Everything, CHVRCHES, Jaguar Ma, Swim Deep, The 1975 and many many more.
It’s not just music though this festival focuses on a variety of other areas including comedy, theatre, dance, film, spoken word and literature. Comedians such as Mark Watson, Lee Nelson and Josh Widdicombe will all be appearing over the weekend. The National Theatre of Wales will be performing and Ultimate Bowie will be shown on the Film and Music Stage. Poet Carol Ann Duffy and feminist and novelist Germaine Greer will also be appearing over the weekend.
It’s a festival that truly does cater for everyone whether you want to go for music or film or theatre or a mix of everything it is complete value for money. Tickets are on sale now and are a good £20 to £30 cheaper than some of the bigger festivals in the UK.
For me it’s such a brilliant bill and I think it is the best festival bill in the UK for this summer that I have seen so far. I really want to go to this, what do you think of the line-up? Good or not?
