The pastel pinks and blues that opened the show reminded me of newborn babies colour schemes. Hints of mint against the pink and pastel purple against the blue with accessories such as clutches and belts are added before teals, lemons, berry’s and beige’s take over. Outfits all in one colour or with a standout accessory work really well. Sheer shirts, cashmere cardigans, oversized smock fit coats, their take on the classic beige trench in an oversized fit, lace below knee skirts and dresses with classic designs weaved throughout and for the guys it is tailored looks with well fitting trousers and shirts, pops of colour from ties or shoes, oversized classic coats and an amazing red and white polka dot shirt.
The spotty red and white shirt teamed with the striped below knee bodycon skirt is the look I love most. Colour and pattern clashing talks to my favourite fashion side though I still love the refined look and pastel colours. Those are a style, clothing and outfits that I would like to think my future and more mature self would look to and wear.
This collection is a million miles away from the Burberry brand and stigma of the 2000’s, one that is stuck in my head from years looking at fake Burberry check bags, scarves and caps teamed with tracksuits. That ruined Burberry for me but now with grown up eyes I see this is a brand that celebrates the best of British fashion and materials we make. There is some really good tailoring on the clothes which really fit your shape and show it off to it’s best. This is a refined collection creating some put together looks and celebrating the English rose.
