tracks of the week #33 & november playlist

4 very new and very brilliant tracks this week. 2 remixes, one of which from a recently discovered act for me, a pop acts new song and a beautiful new single from one of my favourite voices of last year.

Chloe Howl – Rumour [Unicorn Kid Remix]

Having recently gotten into Chloe Howl’s brilliant music, I’ve spent a lot of time on her Soundcloud page exploring all the sounds on there. This particular remix of ‘Rumour’ I absolutely love. It has 90’s house sounds running throughout giving it a retro tinge while still sounding very modern with a fast tempo, plenty of electronics and Howl’s distinctive brogue.

London Grammar – Nightcall [Raaja Bones and Fyfe Dangerfield Remix]

A chill out, 90’s reminiscent remix of band of the moment London Grammar’s cover of Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’ which is to be the band’s next single from their recently released debut album ‘If You Wait’.

Sampha – Too Much

After appearing on some SBTRKT tracks I feel in love with how amazing and just beautiful Sampha’s voice is. This track sees that amazing voice reaching some brilliant high notes as well as softly sitting alongside the gentle tinkling piano. This one is really really stunning!

McFly – Love Is On The Radio

I love this new track from McFly. They are back to their best in my opinion and if the rest of their new album, due for release next year, is like this then I will be quite happy. I love the video too, back to some sort of old school McFly video full of funny moments.

As usual a mixed bag of tracks for this month’s playlist from pop to indie, new releases and older acts. I hope you enjoy.
