Shirt – Topshop / Skirt – F&F / Boots – Dorothy Perkins / Bag – Urban Outfitters / Watch – Casio
Not really sure why the first two pictures are so grainy, I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with Blogger as I’ve seen loads of bloggers complaining about the same thing recently. Anyway, apologies for that.
Onto the outfit and this is one that hours worth of Pinterest and Haim outfit stalking resulted in. I’m sure I’m not the only girl not only obsessed with Haim’s brilliant music but also their awesome fashion sense and hair that I only wished mine looked like. I love Haim’s relaxed but always amazing style and though at times I dress in a similar vein to them anyway, a little Pinterest/Google Image search of the band always inspires me to make a bit more effort, especially on days I feel like I can’t be bothered, and to try something a bit different, out of my comfort zone or be a little bit more creative fashion wise.
This was the result of that, granted it had to be tailored for winter so no short shorts or mini skirts without tights. This pleather skirt from F&F I absolutely love and was a total bargain for £7, it goes with so many things in my wardrobe as it’s essentially just a black skirt but the texture, look and tiny little holes punched in the fabric makes it a little bit more interesting than just a black skirt. The tartan shirt I’ve had for such a long time now and honestly the amount of checked shirts I own that contain red and black is insane. This one is the only one that is sleeveless though and I think that is mainly what I love about it as it’s perfect for layering over or under things in winter but also wearable in the height of summer with just a pair of denim shorts.
Pulling the whole outfit together with my new suedette pewter boots which I absolutely adore, they are so comfortable despite the heel and were in the sale for only £15, down from £55, absolute bargain! A bag from Urban Outfitters that I’ve had it quite a long time now but it’s one of my favourites, finishes off the look. It’s a good size, fits everything in and I love the patent style of it giving it a sort of vintage look I think which perfectly pulls the whole Haim trademark retro rock girl outfit together.
What do you think of the Haim girls style? And who influences your style?
