As spring is starting to show itself finally I thought it was about time my wardrobe started to hide away some of the black and grey clothing, the long sleeves and thick woolly jumpers and start to have a bit of colour and less layers. Though it was still quite wintry, what with the wind and the rain on Tuesday when I wore this, it was still nice to wear something a bit different from my winter uniform.
The shirt I bought a few weeks ago from Asda, it comes in four shades – baby blue, light pink, mint and white, I chose the mint and I was a little unsure about how the pale, pastel shade would look against my very fair complexion but surprisingly I think it works and I absolutely love this shirt. This is the second time I’ve worn it and it’s just so comfortable and very easy to style as it’s a more subtle shade of green it goes with a lot of things in my wardrobe. I paired it with this red gingham skirt from Gracie Airs that I nabbed for around £8 at the last Vintage Fair in Sheffield which took place at the beginning of March. I love gingham patterns as they remind me of school days and this red gingham skirt is such a classic style in it’s colours and patterns but made that little bit more interesting with the polka dot bow. I absolutely love how cute the skirt looks especially with the addition of the bow, it may only be a simple addition but it’s so effective. I adore this skirt and I know I’m going to wear it so much this Spring/Summer and into Autumn/Winter. Teaming this spring and slightly girly outfit with my leather jacket toughened the whole look up a bit as did my pewter boots because we all know I can’t go too girly with my outfits. A studded bag and the spike necklace from EverOurs were nice little touches to finish off this outfit which I didn’t think really needed all that much in terms of accessories as it’s quite a strong statement on it’s own.
It’s so nice to finally be breaking into the Spring wardrobe and colours now. What colours and patterns will you be wearing this Spring?
