Jumper – H&M / Skirt – H&M / Necklace – H&M / Cap – Primark / Nike 6.0 via Office
So as you might be able to tell I got a bit bored taking outfit photos so pulled some stupid moves but honestly I quite like that photo so I thought I’d include it for you all. If nothing else hopefully it will be you laugh.
The observant among you will have noticed a bit of a H&M theme going on here and that definitely has something to do with my recent H&M mini haul that happened at the start of March. After clearing my wardrobe out [again!] I was in need of a couple of lightweight jumpers and a couple of basic pieces that can be worn underneath things or on their own as part of an outfit. I’m a huge fan of tropical prints, I’ve been seeing them everywhere so far this Spring and I have my eye on so many tropical themed pieces it’s slightly becoming a concern. This jumper then, with it’s powder blue colour and cute palm trees, was an obvious choice for me and that clearly meant that I could team it with my one and only cap in my hat collection that I bought last summer from Primark. I’ve not worn a cap since I was about 7 when I had a Spice Girls cap [I was so cool] and I never thought I’d be able to pull it off but surprisingly I don’t look too stupid in it.
With the bright and standout prints of the jumper and cap I thought it was best to keep part of my outfit plain and simple and that came from the black bodycon mini skirt. The perfect basic for wearing with oversized blouses or band shirts paired with or without tights depending on the weather and trainers, boots, brogues etc. My trainers are Nikes I bought a few years ago now and occasionally I wear them but not as much as I could, I love trainers but they will never beat my boots obsession. The brightness of the shoes compliments the patterns on the top half of the outfit without being too much.
I really love this outfit and I know it will be something I will be wearing a lot this spring with the addition of some tights and in summer it will be sans tights like it is here. It’s my own little nod to the sports trend that I never really go all out on but just pick and choose certain items to use in outfits. I’m took this to Paris and though it may not be totally chic enough for France and French fashion I thought it would be nice comfy day wear for this typically English fashioned sense girl when roaming the streets of Paris.
What do you think of tropical prints? Will you be wearing them this Spring/Summer?
