This may be the third review of this place I’ve written on my blog but I’m going to keep it short and just focus on the food with this one. I’ve already mentioned the wonderful atmosphere, great decor and friendly staff before but you can find out more by reading my first review and second review of the cafe. I wouldn’t normally write this many reviews in such a short space of time but I did say for a long time that I wanted to check out their lunch menu and I finally got a chance too so I wanted to give it a quick review.
I had the Veggie Burger on a Buttermilk Bun which came with a Green Salad [cucumber, rocket, radish and tomato] and one of the daily salads* they have on offer. I chose the Cous Cous daily salad which had olives, peppers and artichoke in there too, it was basically like all of my favourite things in a salad. The Cous Cous had such a lovely flavour running throughout it, I’ve never had or made a meal with cous cous that tasted that yummy before. The veggie burger itself was huge! It was a double patty with lovely fresh flavours running throughout on top of lettuce, tomato, mayo and there was a really nice chutney on top as well. It was absolutely amazing and the buttermilk bun was just so so nice with a wonderful taste and creamy texture to it.
* The range of daily salads included a puy lentil one, the cous cous one, a green salad with pesto, a bread salad and one with chickpeas so plenty for everyone’s taste or dietary requirements there.
At £7.50 for the burger and around £2 for the drink, this meal was absolutely amazing value for money! I left completely stuffed and fully satisfied with what I had decided to order from the menu. As usual service was good and quick with food presented well and obviously tasting great. Now I’ve been back for lunch as well as breakfast I know that this is a place I could go to at any time of day and get something good there. Whether it’s cake, breakfast, lunch or just coffee, I fully recommend Homemade by Thelma’s to every single person in Sheffield.
Homemade by Thelma’s is situated at 4 Nether Edge Road, Sheffield, S7 1RU.
