White Lace Dress – Ded London via eBay / Silver Boots – Dorothy Perkins / Cat Face Bag – Primark / Maroon Hat – Topshop / Watch – Casio
So if this outfit is not basically my audition to become a Haim sister then I don’t know what is. After watching Haim’s set at Glasto and being blown away yet again by how awesome those girls are, I instantly went online to get me some white attire. I never wear white, ever! I’m notoriously likely to spill food or drink down me all the time, my mum only dressed me in white as a child when she had to i.e. my christening and when I was a bridesmaid for my auntie aged 3 so to say it’s a big moment that I’m venturing to white is an understatement. Those Haim girls sold it so well though and any food spillages I’m blaming on them.
My first white purchase was this dress by Ded London that I got from eBay for a mere £10. It’s not totally white more ivory which I think works better with my fair complexion, the lace is quite thick which is a lot nicer than flimsy lace which I will more than likely ruin after wearing once. The underdress is of a very good quality too, most underdresses these days are horrible and cheap material but this is a lovely lightweight quality material. The sweetheart neckline created by the underdress and the waistband add lovely touches to an already beautiful dress for me. I think this could be my new favourite piece in my wardrobe.
Instead of teaming this with sandals or a court heel and looking a bit too formal, I decided to add a bit of a rock star edge to it as is my usual fashion notion [I refuse to wear anything too girly] and obviously inspired by those Haim sisters again. The boots I’ve featured on here loads before, they are probably my favourite pair of boots I own, a lovely colour, a good heel height for me and insanely comfortable. A maroon hat and this adorable cat face bag from Primark [yes, another one!] complete this outfit quite well I think.
I am now desperate to go out in this outfit all the time as I absolutely adore it and if someone did mistake me for a Haim sister [never going to happen] then that would be an added bonus. What do you guys think of this outfit and venturing into white clothing?
