With so many brilliant acts on the bill at this year’s Tramlines, I had to write another post with 6 more acts that I think you should check out if you are heading to the festival or if not get on Soundcloud or Spotify now and give them a listen. All these artists below are completely new to me and there is so much amazing material on offer from each of them covering plenty of genres so there should be something for everyone on this list.

PINS
Manchester female four piece PINS will be bringing their nostalgic, muffled rock fuelled sound to the Steel City. After gaining the attention of plenty of the music press and building a great fanbase through their blog and social media accounts, these girls are all about creating a full visual to go along with their music. The music features dreamy and distant vocals with guitar reverb and chaotic pounding drums while their look is that to make any aspiring rock chick jealous. They’re talented, they’re fashionable and they are really bloody good from the sounds of tracks like ‘LUVU4LYF’, so make sure you check these girls out because they are bound to be a highlight of the festival.

MØ
Danish electronic indie pop singer with a soul edge MØ is another new act that’s found fame over this past year that will now be heading to Sheffield for a set at Tramlines. Hitting up the main stage shows her appeal to fans of all ages and genres and that her sound though a mix of many different areas and eras of music will still work absolutely perfectly on the biggest stage and probably most commercial stage of the festival. Having heard a lot about her and her sound in the music press and online over the past few months it would be amazing to finally get to see her live and see if her live sets live up to the hype that has surrounded them. Also, make sure you check out amazing cover of ‘Say You’ll Be There’ by The Spice Girls on her Soundcloud page.

Menace Beach
This duo from Leeds with their hazy, throwback vibe will be hitting up Tramlines when Menace Beach play the tiny but wonderful venue Queens Social Club. With distorted vocals, atmospheric tinges to everything, fuzzy guitar reminiscent of some of the better UK 90’s bands and an almost nonchalant vibe running throughout their songs with their carefree attitude. This really is some great music and it will be the perfect accompaniment to making your festival experience all the more authentic as it transports you back via dance along rhythms and sing along choruses.

Cholombian
Music maker Cholombian will be bringing his gran soundscapes to The Harley on the opening night of Tramlines this year. After remixing Alt-J’s ‘Bloodflood’ last year, it has brought attention to his sound with everyone from The Guardian to Rob Da Bank a fan of this guy and his tracks. Epic moments, hip hop inspired beats and complicated compositions are what you will hear through his set, so if you are looking for something a little different with a chill out vibe and good rhythm then Cholombian is definitely your guy to check out.

Polkadodge
Sheffield’s very own Polkadodge and their catchy indie pop sound will be gracing the stage at the Frog and Parrot over the course of the festival weekend. Having spent the beginning half of this year playing plenty of shows especially in Sheffield and becoming a well known name here it was only a matter of time before the four piece were given a set at Tramlines. Their uptempo tracks with dance along rhythms, guitar hooks and stick in your head choruses will be a brilliant soundtrack to your Saturday night so make sure you check these guys out.

Cut Ribbons
Welsh five piece Cut Ribbons will be heading back to Sheffield after a brilliant support set for Thumpers back in May this year in the city. Ethereal vocals, soaring synths and a great rock edge with steady bass lines, drums that range from pounding to padding and guitars that riff, howl and create great melodies. If you are wanting a slightly more chilled atmosphere to your Friday night but still want to have the opportunity to have a little dance to swaying and great rhythms then Cut Ribbons are the band you need to check out.
