Dogtooth Jacket – Dorothy Perkins / Tropical Print Shirt – Papaya at Matalan / Leopard Print Shorts – New Look / Mustard Boots – Office / Bag – Primark / Tights – Primark / Gold Chain – H&M
Firstly apologies for my lack of looking at the camera and my slightly dishevelled appearance but these photos were taken in the height of my cold and therefore I looked and felt terrible! That being said though when you feel awful and have done for over a week on top of stress then it’s the little things that can make you feel better like painting your nails or putting on a nice outfit. Both things I have done this week and both have made me feel slightly better for a little while at least.
This outfit completely picks up on the monochrome I am loving so much at the moment – black, white, grey and navy are the basics of any wardrobe and black clashed with white will always be a favourite of mine and a favourite of so many as it is so easy to pull off. I love the tropical print of the shirt in black and white clashed against the black and white dogtooth checks of this jacket [yes, I’m wearing it again]. They clash and yet compliment each other so well and this is the kind of styling I want to bring more of into my wardrobe.
My pops of colours, which always make an appearance in any monochrome outfit of mine, came from the leopard print hot pant style shorts with the bright pillar box red and the mustard yellow of these amazing boots which were obviously going to make an appearance as they are one of my favourite pairs of boots to wear come Autumn. The bright primary colours set against the stark blacks and whites makes for an outfit I truly adore with colour and pattern clashes going on all over the place. I can see myself wearing more and more outfits like this in the future and especially for this A/W.
How do you feel about clashing bright primary colours with monochrome basics?
