tracks of the week #73

Paolo Nutini – Let Me Down Easy

After seeing Paolo Nutini last weekend and falling even more in love with his stunning and incredible vocals, it’s only obvious that he would be featured in this week’s tracks post as I have not really stopped listening to him all week. The new album really is a stunning listen and this particular track is my favourite on the entire LP. The slowed, drawn out notes, the seductive vocals and Paolo’s as always wonderful vocal delivery to tell this story of heartbreak makes this one such a breathtaking listen.

Death From Above 1979 – Right On, Frankenstein!

The only band that has been stopping me from listening to Mr Nutini all week is the excellent DFA1979. I went to see these guys last Friday and I really did have an amazing time, the pair put on such a good, all about the music, rock and roll club show and it was so good to experience something that authentic and brilliant after such a long time. I’ve not listened to as much DFA in the past as I should have but I’ve soon rectified that this week and their brand new album ‘The Physical World’ in particular has been on repeat and I can totally see why so many people have named it their album of the year already. This is one of my favourites on the album and for anyone who hasn’t listened to DFA before or the new album then it is a good indicator of their sound but I implore you to go right now and listen to it!
