Black Shirt – eBay / Sequin Shorts – Forever 21 / Burgundy Boots – New Look / Tights – Drop Dead Clothing / Patent Green Clutch – Vintage / Watch – Casio
With the Christmas party season well underway, it was about time I brought out some sequins in my outfit posts and here they come from these amazing silver sequinned shorts from Forever 21. I bought these shorts last year and have worn them a couple of times since then, mainly for nights out, and though they look like they would be tight and uncomfortable they really aren’t at all. They may be figure hugging, meaning less burgers for me, but they are extremely comfortable and fit absolutely perfectly.
I teamed the shorts, which are quite clearly a standout piece on their own merit, with a plain black shirt that I got from eBay. I added the pearls to the collar myself to emulate some of the shirts I’ve seen on Pinterest with studs, sequins and beads on the collar tips. I thought pearls was something a little different and it honestly didn’t take very long to hand sew these few pearls onto the collar of this shirt. I really like the effect taking it from a plain and simple black shirt and adding a bit of interest to what would otherwise be a wardrobe basic.
I added my new boots from New Look which are insanely comfortable and that I adore so much as well a vintage patent clutch and these very cool tights from Drop Dead Clothing. They are quite old now but I haven’t worn them much so they are in really good condition. I must admit when I wore these in London last year I got quite a few funny looks from people but whatever I love them and quite frankly everyone should love or at least appreciate a patterned tight.
I think I’d call this a simple and slightly casual party wear outfit perfect for a night out with the girls or a Christmas meal just probably don’t eat too much. It’s an easily thrown together outfit that looks cool and stylish without having to make very much effort at all.
Are you a fan of wearing sequins over the festive season or not?
