new music: Red Seas Fire

West Country progressive metal quartet Red Seas Fire have been a little quiet since the release of their April 2014 EP ‘Confrontation’. That release was the follow up to 2013’s ‘Exposition’ debut, 2015 though will see the release of their latest work ‘Resolution’. This is the most recent instalment of their career spanning work and it is set to be the best of them all.

Below is the single ‘Blood Bank’ taken from the EP:

The track is a huge, in your face track from the first notes with huge chugging riffs, pounding drums and screaming vocals in the verses while the chorus is all choatic cymbal crashes, melodic riffs and more sung rather than shouted vocals. It is a brilliant prog metal track and honestly one of the best and most exciting songs from this genre I’ve heard in a long time. If you like your music heavy, I strongly recommend you checking these guys out.

The largely home-produced and recorded EP ‘Resolution’ sees the band truly in their element creating some masterful music. It is four songs long but utterly packed full of heavy and frantic sounds, plenty of riffs and a good mix of metal elements and more melodic moments that gives their tracks interest and a great edge that a lot of other metal bands forget about. It really is a great EP and well worth checking out.

The band are currently on tour in the UK and have a couple more dates scheduled for this year too. However, I’m sure there will be another tour later this year for those who missed out this time around so make sure you keep an eye on their social media channels.
