new music: IRIS – Antisocial

UK punk rock quartet IRIS formed back in 2010 and over the years have gained support and recognition from fans and bands alike. Recently the band have released the video for their new single ‘Antisocial’ taken from their latest album ‘Something To Live For’, produced by Oliver Craggs (Mallory Knox/Feed The Rhino) and released via Engineer Records. Check out the video for the new single below:

Starting with scuzzy guitar strums that reverberate around the track, its a calm opening before crashing in screaming lyrics, chugging riffs and bass lines and pounding drums along with crashing cymbals and infectious melodies. This one perfectly manages to tread the line between straight up alternative hardcore and catchy pop punk making it an accessible track to such a wide range of music fans, easily this will catch the attention of many.

Their punk fuelled rock sound is a great mix of genres from grunge to hardcore using elements such as high energy tempos, great melodies and killer riffs. They are a band that manage to mix alternative sounds with an appeal to all from commercial radio listeners to underground music fanatics. Their new take on the UK rock scene has seen them opening stages for the likes of Mallory Knox, Deaf Havana and Arcane Roots over the years alongside their own UK tours.
