new music: Deadset Dream

Sheffield five piece Deadset Dream are a great new alternative rock meets punk act that are sure to become a highlight of the music scene here in the Steel City and beyond. I saw the band a few weeks ago supporting Inherit The Stars at their EP launch show and they were absolutely brilliant! It’s difficult for a band to impress me live for the very first time I’ve heard of them but these guys did that quite easily. Check out their track ‘Our Summer’ below:

Playing on the Radio by Deadset Dream

A serene start to this one with falling guitar strums, low lethargic vocal style and softly padding drums. Towards the end of the first verse things pick up tempo wise with a more harmonious vocal delivery, guitar hooks that ring around the track and faster percussion, together it creates a wonderful set of melodies all working together in perfect harmony. The track is a great mix of building moments and pop punk choruses that are infectious and huge in their delivery. A really wonderful track.

The group of friends formed the band back in 2012 by their love of jamming music together, over time they played everything from Good Charlotte and Blink 182 to You Me At Six and Don Broco. Over the years and releasing their own EP ‘Playing On The Radio’ as well as a bunch of singles has seen them become a regular on BBC Introducing as well as gaining big festival slots at Sheffield’s Tramlines, Party in the Park in Leeds and Volkfest in Plymouth.

After an enforced break towards the end of 2014, the band are now back and ready to take on 2015 reclaiming their well known position and pushing themselves further musicially and creatively. This will more than likely see new material released as well as plenty of shows support slots and headline shows making this year truly their own.
