Dress – New Look / Bag – Primark / Boots – New Look / Necklace – Etsy
As I’ve not been feeling great or particularly energetic recently I decided on a pretty basic outfit for this week’s outfit post. As plain as it is though I quite like that because sometimes less really is more and that is definitely the case here.
The dress I got from New Look a few months ago now and is something I plan on wearing for my belated birthday meal with my mum soon as I just love everything about this. The cut, the fit, the nipped in waist and flowing skirt and in particular the high neckline. It may be a plain black dress but the shape of the dress does all the talking making there no need to be any colour involved.
I teamed this with my trusty maroon wedge heel boots which I love and my new black pouch style bag from Primark. I never normally match the colour of my dress to my bag but on this occasion I thought it worked really well. The bag itself I bought a few weeks ago on a little Primark spree and have used practically every day since because I just love the shape of it and it fits just the right amount of stuff in for a quick outing in the day and for night time it fits in all the essentials too. My dream catcher necklace from Etsy finishes off the simple outfit perfectly I think, adding a little sparkle to the duller colours. This is my favourite necklace at the moment too so basically every outfit is finished off with this.
So there we have it, my slightly more plain but still quite stylish [I’d say so anyway] outfit, showcasing yet again my move towards more streamlined, tailored and monochromatic palettes and pieces in my wardrobe.
