Today, I bring you seom new music from Sheffield based four piece Julia. These guys have recently released their latest video for new single ‘Take And Leave’ which is available to download now from iTunes, Amazon and more. You can check out the video for the single below:

The track is an interesting one throughout with a rock and roll swagger running throughout the flowing atmospherics. It is a great track on modern day indie rock and roll and I do think the bands approach is something a little bit different to what other people out there are doing at the moment. The lyrics are clever and are delivered with emotion, authority and panache taking centre stage but also sitting perfectly with the melodic oscillating guitar lines and the brilliant rhythm from those drums. An excellent debut track that sets a great precedent for what is to come from these guys.

The video was directed by Sheffield film maker Dave Galloway and was filmed in the city’s disused Woolworths building in the city centre. The single itself was recorded at the now famous 2fly Studios in Sheffield and was produced by Dave Sanderson who has worked with other Sheffield greats such as Hey Sholay, 65DaysofStatic and Reverend and The Makers.

Having formed in 2014, this quartet came together to create ambient music laced with emotion. After spending their first year in a Sheffield practice room crafting their sound and honing their style, the band made their hard work pay off with the release of this single which follows on from demos that were released at the beginning of the year on their YouTube channel.

More singles are set to be released from the guys this Autumn which will coincide with a hometown headliner show at The Harley on 3rd October. It definitely is set to be an exciting few months for this latest act to join the Steel City music scene.
