Bloc Party – Banquet
When Bloc Party first stormed onto the indie music scene, they quickly became one of my favourite bands. Their debut album was nothing short of brilliant and there is no surprise that the band went on to success after success after that. This single is taken from their first album and is easily my favourite Bloc Party song. I can’t describe to you just how good a song is or just how much I love it but it really is an excellent track. And if somehow you have never heard this one, then give it a listen now; you definitely won’t regret it.
Wilco – Random Name Generator
I haven’t been able to stop listening to this song since I first heard it on 6Music a week or so ago. It sounds like it should be a song from an era further back than this one but then at the same time it sounds fresh, exciting and just bloody great really. If you are yet to hear it, make sure you check it out because the incessant beats, repetition through the vocals and the rock and roll attitudes makes this one of the most catchy tracks out there at the moment.
