Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Plymouth band Blowouts, whose blend of punk and indie rock has seen them win scores of fans up and down the country since their inception. After 18 months away, writing and recording their debut album, the band are now ready to showcase just exactly what they have been working on.
A Veteran of Sorts by Blowouts
Above is that album which is available to listen over on their Bandcamp page now. From listening to tracks such as ‘Storm Changer’ and ‘On A Roll’ you can instantly see the band’s potential and all the hard work they have put into this release. The nonchalent vocal tones, mix between heavy and light tempos, shrieking guitar chords and flowing lines, big beats and lovely tempos; there really is a bit of everything here and it works well throughout. The four tracks they have on offer for you to listen to on their Bandcamp now give a great impression of what should be an interesting album.
With lyrical themes including isolation, obsession, romance and edification, ‘A Veteran of Sorts’ it is a compelling listen and something that grabs you in from the start really vying for your attention completely throughout. The album itself well be released on 23rd October and is available to preorder via Bandcamp now and through iTunes on October 11th.
Having already become a local asset and regulars on BBC Introducing, the guys are keen to gain some fresh ears to their cause with the release of this first LP. That should be quite an easy feat for the band as well as they are on tour at the end of this October starting out in Plymouth on 23rd at The Underground and finishing up in Basingstoke on 30th at The Sanctuary taking in Exeter, Guilford and Bristol along the way.
It seems like the next few months should be exciting and interesting ones for this young band and they are definitely ones to keep an eye on too.
