This Week #18

This sounds like the greatest cocktail ever! / Made Polenta Fries for tea this week with my boyfriend, they turned out pretty damn well / Me and my boyfriend came second in the most difficult music quiz ever this week. / Currently Reading: A Feast For Crows by George R.R. Martin

It’s been a busy and weird week this one. I’ve had a huge crisis of confidence when it comes to writing and both my blogs which took me by surprise really. I’ve been feeling a bit off with my writing for a while and have taken more and more weekends off in an attempt to rejuvinate my love for the written word and to kickstart my brain into thinking of great blog ideas but it seemed to not have worked. After having a moment and a moan to my boyfriend about it mid-week though, we seem to have come up with a solution, a better work schedule for myself, giving myself more time to write each day but taking days off when I need to and together we came up with some good ideas for future blog posts on here. Hopefully, I’ll begin to see a bit of an improvement but I’m not going to force this, there is nothing worse than forced writing.

The rest of the week has just been busy and I’m really trying to get on top of my Christmas list. I’m finding present ideas difficult this year, which is probably because my mind is on a plethora of other things bar Christmas, so this whole present buying thing could be a struggle this year. Regardless, I plan to having my shopping done at the latest this time in December so fingers crossed and if anyone has any great Christmas present ideas, let me know, I’m open to opinions and suggestions.

What I’ve Been Listening To:

Arcade Fire – Ready To Start

Paolo Nutini – Pencil Full of Lead

In case you missed it, you can check out this week’s tracks of the week #120

What I’ve Been Reading:

– This week’s colum by Lauren Laverne for The Pool all about including men in the debate on feminism to help change their mindsets on the subject and to stop pitting women and men against each other all the time. Points I wholeheartedly agree with and have long believed needed to be implemented to make feminism and equality truly successful.

Some great advice on decluttering and stopping it happening in the first place by Stephanie Merritt for The Pool.

– I read about the concept of Hygge last week and I’m quite eager to try this new mindset and way of prioritising time in my day to day life, this article by Marissa Bate on The Pool goes into a bit more detail of how you can acheive some Hygge in your life.
