Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Welsh hardcore quintet Continents. After releasing an album to plenty of critical acclaim back in 2013, the band are now back and recently released their follow up ‘Reprisal’ at the end of October.

Above is the latest and second single to be taken from the album ‘Scorn’ with its crashing cymbals and pounding drums it creates a truly chaotic opening to this one. Guitars riff, chug and screech all throughout this whilst vocally we have contempt filled screams ringing around this track. It is a great example of modern day hardcore with the heaviness and harshness we have come to expect from the genre mixed with melodic undertones from the guitars rise and fall, ebb and flow. A really good hardcore track.

Prior to the release of the eagerly anticipated album, it was streaming over on Metal Hammer’s website which came after the announcement of a 2016 European tour with Californian metallers Kingdom of Giants. It seems like now is a very busy and exciting time for the five piece.

After spending the last couple of years on the road, touring their debut ‘Idle Hands’ including a Japanese tour with The Ghost Inside. The guys had a much more relaxed start to this next run with a slot at Hevy Festival over the summer and unveiling the first single ‘Life of Misery’ on Daniel P Carter’s Radio 1 Rock Show last month.

The band are clearly excited and ready to get this new music out there and with good reason as it is full of brilliant moments, especially those two singles they have already released. Keep an eye and an ear on these guys, they are an exciting act to check out.
