new music: Forty Four Hours

Forty Four Hours
Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Manchester alt-trio Forty Four Hours. The three piece consisting of twin brothers, Joe and Alex Holden and their friend, Alix Foden, are set to release their new EP  ‘Only Just Holding On’ on January 22nd.

Above is the video for their latest single ‘Hold Out’ taken from their new EP. Deep, bassy piano notes kick off the track giving a commanding vibe which grabs your attention from the off, while screeching notes from the guitar zig-zag between everything else. The unique, multi-tonal vocal is intriguing and interesting to listen to and delivers the vocals with harmony and musicality. The build-up’s to the verses, the fast choruses and the mix of melody and great rhythms creates a track that will a fan favourite for sure.

This is a  band full of people who have dedicated themselves to making music they love from a young age, these guys combine funky guitars with a unique vocal giving their material a hint of something different from your usual alt-rock trio produced music.

In terms of their new EP, here’s what vocalist Joe Holden had to say about the new sound on it; “If anything, this record is quite a bit darker, it expresses a lot of stuff we’ve needed to say for the past year: writing it has been really cathartic. We’ve tried not to make you cry though. We really got to experiment with this record, so expect the unexpected.”
After spending the majority of 2015 touring the UK with just a handful of material to get their name our there to a wider audience. The band will be again heading out on tour in 2016 to promote this new EP, with 6 dates in December seeing the band tour the country from top to bottom. You can check out the full tour dates on the poster below and pick up tickets from their Facebook page.
