new music: Mention Me

Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Norwich based singer/songwriter Mention Me who has recently released his debut extended single ‘What Could Have Been’, which you can check out below:

The single starts with ebbing and flowing acoustic guitar strums that keep a consist tempo throughout. Vocals are added sitting brilliantly on top of the sparse sounds alongside them. Harmonies a plenty run in between the chords of that lilting, soft guitar. This is a lovely and relaxed track and a very good starting point for this guy’s music career.

Influenced by artists ranging from Brand New and Death Cab For Cutie to Sia and Jamie T, this guy has a great array of influences to draw from when it comes to creating his music. The single talks about the fragile early stages of love and the insecurity of putting your trust in someone else.

The single release coincided with a German tour of 3 dates which Sunny has just got back from. Having toured extensively in the past as a manager, now the tables have been turned and Sunny was the artist for the next tour he embarked on.

A second single is set to be released around April time so keep an eye out for more music from this guy in the very near future.
