Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Scottish melodic rockers Daydream Frenzy who have recently released their brand new track, ‘Good Morning’ taken from their new EP ‘Ocean Air’ which was released on 27th May.
The track is a full on, attitude laden, rock and roll track from the off with fuzzy guitar chords commanding the track before vocals laden with authority and a somewhat harsh rock edge come in. Mixing 90’s grunge and punk attitudes with catchy pop punk melodies makes for an infectious yet demanding song which is delivered with perfection throughout. It is a very strong song to kick off this EP cycle with and shows just how talented and good this band are. Keep your eyes on these guys over the next few months and check out the EP too, if this single is anything to go by it will be a very good listen.
The new EP is the follow up to 2015’s great and critically acclaimed ‘Pride and Wonder’ album which won them plaudits for their great songwriting, something which is still very present in their new single. Here is what the band have to say about their new track; “We wanted a sort of balls to the walls rock song. Lyrically it’s about standing for what is right and fair… We always wanted to make people feel like they could go out and do whatever they wanted in life and that nothing is standing in the way. I know it’s a big statement but lyrically it’s what drives a lot of the words behind the songs.”
The band have some shows lined up for the coming month with their first being this Saturday at Downstairs in Aberdeen which will be their EP launch show. On 17th, they will be in Glasgow at Hard Rock Cafe and they’ll be back in Aberdeen on 26th supporting Vukovi at Cafe Drummonds.
