tracks of the week #147

James Blake – Radio Silence

James Blake is one of my favourite artists around over the past few years. With two great and critically acclaimed albums behind him already, this new release is already making itself known as another jewel in his musical back catalogue. The album has received great reviews and this single is gaining airplay on many major radio stations, including 6Music where I first heard this track. It’s a track I can’t stop listening to for its sheer beauty and the wonder sometimes overloooked in sparse sounds that Blake seems to do so well. Definitely make sure you check this one out!

Biffy Clyro – Wolves of Winter

The new single from Biffy Clyro is a great one and if you’ve not checked it out yet then I urge you to now! With the Scottish trio back though, it means that the UK alt scene has regained one of its best and most successful bands to date. A headline slot at Reading and Leeds this summer and the new album due for release soon, it seems like 2016 and 2017 will be two more years and two more summer festival seasons pretty much dominated by these three Scottish men, and I for one am definitely not complaining!
