Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Melbourne scuzz-pop duo Mannequin Death Squad who have recently released their debut single ‘Sick’ online.
The single, which comes in at just over 2 minutes, is a fast paced, scuzzy number from the very first chords. The grungy guitar lines that echo around the track are set in contrast to the rapid thrashing of the drums and crashing of those cymbals. When it comes to the verses, we have fuzzy guitar lines backing up gritty, altered vocals full of confident swagger. Choruses are huge, full of energy, rock and roll attitude and heavy yet melodic music that will go down absolutely brilliantly live.
The one boy, one girl duo originate from the same Melbourne scene as label mates Valentiine and like those guys, MDS has a reputation for great live shows. With a UK label and management deal in place, the pair are turning their attention to European shores later this year.
The single will be released via Integrity Records on June 10th through all major download stores.
