new music: Avec Sans

Today, I’m bringing you album news and some new music from electro duo Avec Sans. The pair have recently released their latest single ‘Perth’ which is a cover of the Bon Iver track and will feature on the debut album. Check out the track for yourself below.

The single is a great retro-tinged electronic number from the off as tap-tapping beats and mini waterfalls of synth sounds bring us into this one. The sounds build to the addition of soft, breathy vocals which linger across each word with emphasis without losing their fragility. The notes grow in intensity to the first chorus which sees the inclusion of the hit of the drum and the almost thumping sound of the bass. This beautifully ethereal cover of the Bon Iver single is stunning to listen to but at moments it will also see you dancing along to the infectious poppy melodies laced throughout. A really wonderful track that is sure to be a highlight for the upcoming album.

The new track premiered online around a month before the release of their debut album ‘Heartbreak Hi’ on July 15th on American label Beverley Martel. It’s been a long time coming for the release of this first album from Avec Sans but it most definitely will be worth the wait if the singles so far are anything to go by.

Described as “Marvellously bittersweet electro-pop” by The Times and “Think simple but sweet electro in the Chvrches mould.” by The 405, the boy-girl duo have been turning heads around the music scene with their gorgeous and infectious indie pop with a dance edge.

The band are currently on tour this month, supporting Ladyhawke and headlining their own shows, all over the country. To see their tour dates in full, visit the Tour Dates section of their Facebook page.
