new music: Circle of Reason

Today, I’m bringing you some new music from UK alt-rockers Circle of Reason who, earlier this month, released the second single to be taken from their new mini album ‘Faith or Theory’. You can check out the video for ‘Never Enough’ below.

The single is heavy, in your face song from the very first chords. Heavy hit drums thrash their way into your ears and fuzzy guitar riffs rise and fall quite wonderfully. The music stays full on and fast paced throughout and when the vocals arrive, their great harmonies are constantly competing with the pounding notes. The lyrical theme of “No matter what you do, it’s never good enough for some people”  is explored through the track. The angsty meets angry lyrics are portrayed so well here with emotional vocals and soaring high notes. It is a great track that shows the band’s progression in sound over the years and their sheer talent.

This track was chosen as the second single because it is the hard-hitting, attention grabbing album opener. This one plays to the band’s strengths and showcases their best musical skills. Here is what the band had to say about the new video; “With this video we wanted to show the emotion behind the song and how it could relate to anyone. Having Hannaj tell the story and being the focal point of the video was important to get the point across.”

Since emerging on the alt scene in 2011, Circle of Reason have become one of the UK’s best known names. Due to their great shows, musicial creativity and quest to be as successful as possible in the UK and beyond. The band have been on tour this month promoting the album. But they will be announcing some new dates very soon, so keep an eye out for those!

The brand new mini album ‘Faith or Theory’ is already out and you can download it via iTunes now!
