Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Budapest art-punk outfit Gustave Tiger. The Hungarian five-piece have recently released their brand new album ‘Chaste and Mystic Tribadry’. Taken from that album is the single ‘Thermidor’ which you can check out below.
The single is due to be released on 8th July and it is a wonderfully eccentic track from the off. The quick rise and fall of chords alongside fast tempoed drumming and frantic notes make for an interesting track. The vocals mix flowing harmonies with a lilting, almost lethargic delivery at times. Fast paced choruses feature crashing cymbals and high pitched guitar shredding. Consequently, a mix of pop, indie, rock and goth afflications make for a unique and fascinating song to listen to.
Since releasing ‘Mitanni Mares’ and debut ‘At The Idyll’s End’ to great success, the band are back with new music. Making a name for themselves as an energetic and eclectic outfit by playing shows as SXSW and throughout Europe. Since the band’s influences include The Cure and Killing Joke, this feeds in to the intense, harmonic and avant-garde music they create.
Guitarist Gergo has this to say about their music; “The sound of relentless rhythm and dreamy layers of vocal harmonies, infused with electric guitar noise and the touch of psychedelia. All the while refusing to abandon the pop sensibility in our songwriting.”
