Today, I’m bringing you some new music from London three piece Cortes. They have recently released their second single ‘Towers’ and you can check out the video for this single below.
‘Towers’ is a wonderfully put-together track with rock edges to indie and pop sensibilities. The huge notes and massive riffs add to the calmer melodies and the great harmonies that roll gently throughout the track. The toned down verses build up to a chorus of soaring vocals, quick guitar lines and padding drum rhythms. The instrumental middle eight that leads us into the final part of the song is a great example of this bands more rock and roll side. Drums are pounding, cymbals are crashing, the bass lines are throbbing and the guitar riffs are chugging; it’s a great preclude to the chaotic, fast-paced ending to this one.
It may only be early days for the band but they are certainly making an impression on the music industry and critics alike after gaining radio play from the likes of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe. They’ve also managed to get themselves on Spotify new music playlists and Apple’s Best of the Week playlist.
While the momentum is strong and the feeling is good surrounding the band, they plan to release more singles and a debut EP very soon. They are also heading out on tour at the end of October, some headline dates and some supporting the brilliant Sunset Sons. You can see their full live dates here.
It’s been a great start for this trio which is surely set to continue with such great music being released by them. Make sure you keep your eyes and ears on these guys!
