new music: Ghosts of Social Networks

Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Manchester trio Ghosts of Social Networks who have recently released their new single ‘Comeback Kid’ this month. You can check out the track for yourself below:

The single is an upbeat one with a slight retro edge from the off with melodies and echoey synths before ditching the 80’s sounds becoming a great indie rock track with a catchy edge. Wonderfully delivered lyrics provide a solid basis for this song which grows around the soaring harmonies and deep low notes. Those infectious, happy choruses are set in stark contrast to the middle eight which is slightly more commanding and harsh in its delivery. In the main though, this is a brilliant song which has been carefully created through layers and layers of good musicality.

This new single follows on from the band’s last track and debut release ‘Love Potion’ which gained support from the likes of 6Music’s Steve Lamacq, Amazing Radio and several triple-A stations in America. Such a good start for the band sets them in good stead for the months to come and the releases that will follow.

The three piece play Birmingham at Rainbow Courtyard this week on 21st so make sure you get down and check them out if you can. For those who can’t make it, I’m sure there will be plenty more opportunities to see these guys in the coming months.

As I said back in April when I first wrote about these guys; “it is worth watching these guys for more great and interesting things to come.”
