new music: Brineaboy

Today, I’m bringing you some new music from brand new American duo Brineaboy who have recently released their first couple of singles. You can check out one of those track ‘Unalienable’ below.

This debut track features great beats and trippy sounds from the off and creates a very 90’s R’n’B meets deep house vibe. The echoey fade outs of the vocals match the wobbly chords and swirling atmosphere that runs throughout this one giving it that psychadelic edge. The constant beat and slowed down chords makes for a truly chilled out track that will become a favourite of many, especially those that were fans of the 90’s dance scene.

This duo is a new side project from Amy Wright of Yumi and the System (who I wrote about here and here) which started out as nothing serious but turned into something exciting and new. Teaming up with coworker HAHill, they came up with a name, a bunch a tracks and the idea to release one single a month starting with the song above.

It may be early days for this bass-driven, electronic two piece but their love of acts such as Crystal Castles, Portishead and Warpaint have seen great influences seeping into their music. It’s exciting to see what is to come over the coming months for this duo who look set on releasing new music as consistently and constantly as they can.
