The first announcement for this year’s festival was made first thing on Monday morning and since then there has been praise of the band’s confirmed so far and speculation of the other acts still to be announced, especially the headline acts for the three nights in July. From Friday 24th July to Sunday 26th July, the steel city, its venues, parks and spaces will give themselves up to music, entertainment and other brilliant things at one of the friendliest and varied festivals I’ve ever been to.

So I guess you are wondering who this year’s acts are then, well we have the brilliant Buzzcocks who will be playing the main stage on Sunday, the excellent Billy Bragg will be playing Leadmill on Sunday, the great Ghostpoet will be playing the main stage on Friday night and the awesome Sugarhill Gang will be gracing the main stage on Saturday. The bands announced so far have been everything from big names to small newcomers via exciting local talent; check out the full list of acts below:

And So I Watch You From Afar, Billy Bragg, Blanck Mass, Buzzcocks, Dutch Uncles, Ghostpoet, GULF, Hey Sholay, Jagaara, Kate Tempest, Knifeworld, Marika Hackman, Martha Reeves, Melle Mel & Scorpio, Nai Harvest, Portico, Robyn Sherwell, Roman Flugel, Shopping, Slaves, Sugarhill Gang, Tropics, Walls, West Street Mob

This year’s Tramlines will take place on the weekend of 24th to 26th July with acts playing throughout the city from paid for venues to free shows elsewhere.
