Today, I’m bringing you some new music from Nottingham singer/songwriter Jamie Moon who has recently released his new EP ‘Oh, My Heart’. You can check out the video for the first single taken from the new release below:
The track is a beautiful, lilting classic from the very first notes as gentle, softly plucked guitar strings dance around wonderfully to create a serene, tranquil atmosphere. When the vocals come in, they are laced with confidence in their delivery, sadness that adds to their dulcet quality and fragility that comes from that emotion that is so easy to find throughout the lyrics of the track. A strong, steady drum beat is added picking this song up in tempo, volume and it gives it a swaying, melodic edge. It may be a long track but you certainly won’t get bored listening to this track progress from soft acoustic opening to harmonious, catchy ending.
The new EP is particularly special to Jamie and features themes such as love, heartbreak, blossoming romance and fears of commitment. As you can imagine, some soul searching and tough moments were gone through to the finished EP you hear. It’s a great EP and a standout of this year so far showing some great potential from this artist that is sure to take him very far in the future.
With a decent fan base behind him, this great EP and the desire to write great tracks inspired by the likes of Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Ben Howard and Bob Dylan, it seems like the next few months will be an interesting and exciting time for this folk/acoustic artist. Make sure you keep an eye on this guy!
